There is nothing quite like seeing our gorgeous couples say ‘I do’ at The River Mill. Whether you are going all out on your all-important day, or keeping it simple, our unique wedding venue is the perfect adaptable space for any vibe.
Exclusive Use
Exclusively yours from 11am – 12am, The River Mill is the ideal unique wedding venue for your intimate special day.
Private access to our stunning riverbank is from 11am – 10pm. You can enjoy drinking and dining ‘al fresco’ style with your loved ones alongside our fire pits – we’ll also throw in some sparklers and marshmallows for toasting.
Props
What you see is what you get. Any props you see at our venue are yours to use for the day:
- Booze & Bubbles bath – this is ideal for photos/ beer or anything else!
- Copper Frame with ‘Drunk In Love’ neon sign
- Fairy lights

Outdoor Ceremonies
Experience the ultimate serenity of an outdoor ceremony on our riverbank. For the outdoors lovers, it’s the perfect way to connect with nature on your special day. The water rushing through the weir will create a serene soundtrack to your day whilst the greenery and dappled sun creates a romantic aura. There are a wide range of ways to set up your ceremony outside, our riverbank is the perfect blank canvas.
If the weather doesn’t permit on the day, we always have our gorgeous indoor space as the perfect back up.
The Dream Team
We pride ourselves on having an award-winning events team. You will be allocated one of our super friendly and experienced event managers to take care of you and your event. You’ll meet your event manager three months prior to your event to go through every part to make it pitch perfect.

The River Mill Venue is one large room which has been divided into 4 quarters.
- Reception Quarter, with comfy seating and a stunning view of the riverbank.
- Ceremony Quarter, which can seat up to 60 guests.
- Dining Quarter, which includes our rustic wooden tables and chairs.
- Disco Quarter, with ample space for your band or DJ to set up.
Within the venue we also have a hidden dressing room which is the perfect space for you to get ready ahead of saying ‘I do!’. Outside across the cobblestones you shall find our stunning riverbank with seating for up to 60 guests. If you’re looking for a Summer wedding, why not have your ceremony outside?! It’s also stunning in Autumn where we set up our fire pits for your guests to enjoy.
We also include our vintage wedding props, a selection of table decorations, tea lights, candle sticks and wicker placemats per guest.
If you are looking to hold your Wedding Ceremony at The River Mill the maximum guest number is 60 in the daytime, increasing to 130 in the evening.
We don’t! Here at The River Mill you can opt to treat your guests to a lavish three course meal, or choose something more informal like our grazing boards.
Absolutely! A lot of our couples have decided to get married abroad, or are looking for something less formal than a traditional wedding. We have our fabulous ‘Twilight Wedding’ offer
which starts from £1250.00.
Unfortunately not. You can purchase a drinks package from our catering team, or have the bar open for your guests to purchase their own drinks.
Unfortunately we do not allow any outside caterers here at The River Mill, excluding wedding cakes.
Of course, you are welcome to bring your dog along to your wedding day. We recommend that they attend the ceremony and drinks reception and then head home whilst you enjoy your wedding breakfast.
Parking at The River Mill is limited and we strongly recommend car sharing or organising taxis. There is also ‘The Overflow Car Park’ located on Haslams Lane, around a 5 minute walk from The River Mill which is available for your guests, free of charge.
The Mill Cottage is our onsite accommodation located only two minutes walk from The River Mill. The Cottage can sleep up to 10 guests and is the perfect location to sleep the night before your wedding, as well as on the big day!
