Weddings at The River Mill

Our dining area includes rustic wooden tables and wooden chairs.

Use of our Dressing Room which is available from 10.30AM and solely yours to use throughout your day and evening.

Our outdoor Riverbank area, including fire pits and sparklers.

An experienced Event Manager who shall look after you throughout the whole wedding day, including helping to set up your props/decorations, manage your suppliers/entertainment and ensure everything runs to schedule.

Full use of our Pay Bar, please note that we are a card payment only bar.

If you would like the horsebox to be open to serve drinks during your drinks reception, there isn’t a charge for us to do so!

Drinks need to be pre-ordered in advance via The River Mill Kitchen. Or, if you would like your guests to pay for their own drinks we can operate a token system, where they purchase a token inside at the bar and then select drinks from The Horsebox.

You have full and exclusive use of The River Mill from 10.30AM – Midnight.

Unfortunately we can’t offer any earlier access as our clean team shall be tidying the venue and ensuring it’s fresh for your arrival!

Remember that your Event Manager will be on site from 9.00AM and they can set up your tables, decorations and any floral arrangements you may have supplied so you won’t need to do this yourself!

Unfortunately, as the venue is in use most days this isn’t something that we offer. We ask you to drop your items off to The River Mill the day before your wedding and we shall then set these up for you. As we have viewings most evenings we wouldn’t want any of your items to get damaged or moved so we set these up at 9.00AM for you.

We completely understand that you or your suppliers may wish to arrive at The River Mill before 9.00AM. We shall do our best to accommodate any stylists or florists that would prefer earlier access, however we can not guarantee this and it will depend on the availability of your Event Manager who will discuss during your consultation.

No, whilst we are a registered venue to hold your ceremony, you shall need to call Derby Registras to book in your official ceremony with them.

It is completely up to you what time you have the legal ceremony. However, we suggest no earlier than 13.30PM to give you plenty of time in our beautiful Dressing Room and no later than 14.30PM, to ensure you have enough time to get ready in the morning, but also have plenty of time to make the most out of the space!

Our team of Experienced Event Managers shall be in touch with you 6-8 weeks in advance of your Wedding Day to discuss your plans. This can be either at the venue, or can take place via the telephone or Teams.

There is a google map print out which you shall find located in the google drive. Please email or print this for your couples ahead of their planning meeting.

Monday – Friday: The Rugby Club overflow carpark is available from 9.00AM – Midnight, with the gates being closed and locked by Repton Security at midnight. Bob/Dayle know to open the gates when they arrive at work in the morning. The rugby club is highlighted in RED.

Saturday – Sunday: We recommend that our couples park in the YELLOW areas highlighted on the map. The English Wine Project has lots of spaces which are available Saturday – Sunday.

When our couples pay their first installment to The River Mill, they shall receive  a welcome email from Jenkinsons which shall introduce them.
9-12 months ahead of their wedding date they shall be invited to a tasting session.
Following this taster, they shall be contacted by RMK to book in a catering consultation, which is where the initial 50% installment shall be requested. The second 50% installment shall be requested 8 weeks prior to their wedding date.

They do! We organise 4 taster sessions, seasonally, throughout the year. These are canape style tasters, where the couple are invited to hour slots. During that hour we shall serve drinks and canapes for the couples to get a sample of the menus we have available.
