The River Mill Venue is one large room which has been divided into 4 quarters.
- Reception Quarter, with comfy seating and a stunning view of the riverbank.
- Ceremony Quarter, which can seat up to 60 guests.
- Dining Quarter, which includes our rustic wooden tables and chairs.
- Disco Quarter, with ample space for your band or DJ to set up.
Within the venue we also have a hidden dressing room which is the perfect space for you to get ready ahead of saying ‘I do!’. Outside across the cobblestones you shall find our stunning riverbank with seating for up to 60 guests. If you’re looking for a Summer wedding, why not have your ceremony outside?!
We also include our vintage wedding props, a selection of table decorations, tea lights, candle sticks and wicker placemats per guest.
If you are looking to hold your Wedding Ceremony at The River Mill the maximum guest number is 60 in the daytime, increasing to 130 in the evening.
Our minimum spend for 2026 is £1800.00. If you plan to host your wedding in 2027-2028, there is a minimum spend of £2000.00. The minimum spend applies to your catering and drinks packages.
Unfortunately not. You can purchase a drinks package from our catering team, or have the bar open for your guests to purchase their own drinks.
Unfortunately we do not allow any outside caterers here at The River Mill, excluding wedding cakes.
Of course, you are welcome to bring your dog along to your wedding day. We recommend that they attend the ceremony and drinks reception and then head home whilst you enjoy your wedding breakfast.
Parking at The River Mill is limited and we strongly recommend car sharing or organising taxis. There is also ‘The Overflow Car Park’ located on Haslams Lane, around a 5 minute walk from The River Mill which is available for your guests, free of charge.
The Mill Cottage is our onsite accommodation located only two minutes walk from The River Mill. The Cottage can sleep up to 10 guests and is the perfect location to sleep the night before your wedding, as well as on the big day!
If you needed to change your wedding date for any reason, every couple can change their wedding date once, with a small administration fee of £150.
If you needed to cancel your wedding date and there was no option to change the date we would try our hardest to re-sell the date for you. If we managed to re-sell the wedding date that you have booked with us, we would refund all of the money that you have paid less a £500 administration fee.
If you did cancel your wedding date and we were unable to sell the wedding date the amount due would depend entirely on the proximity to your wedding date. If you cancel:-
1. More than 24 months before your booked date – 25%
2. 24 months to 30 weeks before your booked date – 50%
3. 30 weeks to 12 weeks before your booked date – 75%
4. Less than 12 weeks before your booked date – 100%
